Weddings at Waldhaus Laubach: An Interview with the Team
Landhotel Waldhaus Laubach and its Blauer Löwe event barn offer a setting for weddings surrounded by nature. In this interview, the Waldhaus team answers six questions about the venue, suitable guest numbers and relaxed wedding planning.

What makes Waldhaus special as a wedding venue?
For us, it is the combination of everything.
Our major highlights are the beautiful, spacious garden and our charming event barn, the Blauer Löwe – pure Waldhaus magic. ✨ Yet just as important as the venue itself is our warm and welcoming team, who manage every event with professionalism and attention to detail. We are equally proud of our high-quality cuisine, where seasonality and regional produce are very important to us. Our kitchen team cooks with great dedication and makes every wedding an unforgettable culinary experience, too.

What do couples appreciate most about your venue?
Above all, our couples appreciate the individuality and quality of our catering as well as our professional and warm service.
The peaceful location surrounded by nature is also frequently mentioned as a particular advantage. On such a special and often eventful day, slowing down a little can be very welcome.
And one thing matters to us above all: no couple is just a number here. We approach every wedding with passion and make each celebration something truly special – regardless of whether it is small or large.

What kind of wedding or celebration is Waldhaus particularly suited to?
We find an individual solution for every event.
For larger weddings, corporate events or family celebrations with up to 140 people, our event barn offers a special atmosphere that enchants every guest.
But it does not always have to be a large celebration: our function rooms in the main house are ideal for small (but perfectly formed) weddings and events with 30–50 guests.
Our large sun terrace also has space for approx. 80 guests. With the sound of our old fountain and birdsong in the background, it is certainly a place to find peace and slow down – or simply enjoy good conversation over a glass of wine.

What should couples keep in mind when planning a wedding with you?
We give our couples their own wedding folder with a detailed guide and all the important points they need to consider. This creates clarity and immediately takes some of the stress away.

Which approaches and tips have proved particularly useful in your experience?
One thing we see time and again in wedding planning is a very tightly packed schedule.
Our motto is therefore: organisation is silver, flexibility is gold. 😉
A rough schedule is helpful for everyone involved and provides reassurance. At the same time, there should be enough room for spontaneous moments. A wedding day does not always run exactly according to plan – and that is absolutely fine.
Of course, we do our best to keep to agreed schedules. At the same time, we always adapt to the couple and their guests. After all, the day should not feel like a timetable, but like what it is meant to be: a wonderful celebration together.

Are there mistakes or aspects that couples often underestimate when planning?
Sometimes people try to fill a wedding day with as many programme items and highlights as possible. In the process, it is easy to lose sight of what the day is really about.
At the end of the day, the couple should remember not only a perfectly planned event, but above all good conversations, intimate moments together and time shared with family and friends.
A few planned entertainment highlights are of course wonderful – but you should also consciously leave some free time and enjoy the day.
Because in the end: YOU are the event. 🤍
