Winter Wedding

1 min readby Raphael Schlosser

A winter wedding offers unique possibilities and a special atmosphere that becomes unforgettable with the right preparation. It's important to create a cosy environment: outdoor areas can be transformed into warm feel-good zones with soft blankets, patio heaters, fire bowls and fairy lights. Let your guests know early on so they can bring weather-appropriate clothing.

Warm drinks can enrich the ambience, too. Instead of the classic prosecco reception, mulled wine, punch or hot chocolate are perfect for adding a touch of cosiness. A cocoa bar or waffle station with a variety of toppings gives your wedding an original touch. Mulled gin, hot cider or a hot Aperol Spritz are surely also drinks that don't appear so often as a welcome drink at weddings.

Practical wedding favours such as gloves, pashminas or hand warmers aren't just useful – they stay with your guests as a lovely keepsake. Especially creative: gloves arranged as place cards on a Christmas tree.

The winter season brings many advantages. Venues and service providers are often less booked up, which makes planning easier and potentially more affordable. What's more, guests tend to stay indoors, turning the dance floor into the central gathering point.

For extraordinary keepsake photos, winter offers dreamlike backdrops. Make the most of the daylight and plan alternatives such as indoor shoots for bad weather, for example in a café or at the wedding venue.

When it comes to the bridal outfit, warm yet stylish solutions take centre stage. Dresses with long sleeves, combined with accessories such as tights, boots and cosy layers, make sure the bride stays warm while looking elegant.

With these tips, your winter wedding becomes a magical experience full of warmth, cosiness and one-of-a-kind moments that everyone will remember fondly. So what are you waiting for?
